Thomas, a U.S. Navy veteran turned accomplished watercolor artist, made a significant contribution to the 908th Flying Training Wing, U.S. Air Force Reserve, by donating his painting Lethal Skies: The MH-139A Grey Wolf Helicopter over Maxwell AFB. This breathtaking piece captures the power and precision of the Grey Wolf, a new-generation helicopter that will play a pivotal role in the Air Force’s training and operational missions.
As both a military veteran and a wildlife watercolor artist, Thomas has dedicated his career to preserving the legacy of service members through his evocative watercolor paintings. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy from 1983 to 1989 as a Submarine Sonar Technician, earning his Submarine Qualification. Following his military career, he transitioned into the world of fine art and graphic design, gaining recognition for his ability to merge technical precision with artistic expression. With over 30 years of experience, Thomas has developed a methodical approach to watercolor that allows him to capture intricate details and dynamic compositions. His work has been exhibited in galleries and military institutions, and he is a recognized member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama.
